There should be healthy competition amongst small
car manufacturers for poor people. It should compete
with Tata Nano in price. I am eager to import one
if available in RHD model.

The Suzuki Cappuccino is a 660cc and are often tuned to more than 100bhp with a simple turbo upgrade. A 660cc turbo in a Japanese spec Wagon R aka the ‘New’ Wagon R for China will fly!! The current Chinese Wagon R (北斗星）isn’t actually a Kei car (it’s a limited wide version) Stick a 660 turbo in that and you’d be less than impressed.

I am still used to US powered cars. A small car that is powerful is 170-over 200 hp.

The Japanese version is limited to 64BHP to keep it in the kei car category, unlimited its probably about 80bhp, which would put it on par with most 1.3L engines.

Powerful? 660cc even turbo isn’t going to be powerful. Unless the car is a shell and weighs nothing. T-rex or X-box style.
