Greatwall i7 ready for launch!

17 November 2009 7 Comments

GWM-i7The Greatwall i7 is GWM’s last hatchback from a long list of concept cars that they first showed in 2006, since then they have managed to make a convincing strike into the small car segment leaving their traditional area of SUV and pick up trucks behind.

GWM’s small car range might be inspired by other international manufacturers designs, but the i7 appears to be unique (at the front, anyway) The i7 is going to be launched as a model with certain sporty asperations, and will be equipped with either a 1.3l or 1.5L engine. The 1.3l engine will pump out 92bhp, whilst the 1.5L is good for 100bhp, interestingly the i7 will come with a 5 speed manual or a CVT gearbox, which is quite a selling point for a sub 100,000rmb car. The cars interior has also been leaked to the internet prior to the cars official launch in Guangzhou:

Nothing fragile looking about this little car.

So does the 100bhp motor push out 100bhp? Sorry Ash, I gotta tease you about your grammar today.

Unique? This is a copy of the current Toyota Yaris. But the front? Can they sell something like that?

Mi piace, spero arrivi in Italia, però la mascherina la farei un pò meno vistosa
