This new-found, cross-straits collaboration would undoubtedly be beneficial to both sides. Coming from a family split across the two sides due to the civil war, it would be great to see eventual reunification, hopefully under the KMT like the China of yore.

Back to the news at hand, it is interesting how quickly Geely got an electric prototype out. Is it a self-developed electric power train? I wonder what the range is like? Also, it is interesting Yulon is going to be their JV in Taiwan; isn't Dongfeng Yulon's JV partner in China?

Isn't it great what cars can do for a more amicable cross straights relationship.
Yesterday's Taipei Times reports that officials from Geely, Chery and Dongfeng will be among those at an auto convention next week in Taipei where "MOUs are expected to be signed". It turns out that Taiwan brothers have lots of auto expertise to share.
Could we say that when guys get talking to each other about cars they forget all about making war?
