26 November 2009 One Comment

SAIC have reportedly chosen Tangshan to be the site of their new New Energy research centre. SAIC have reached an agreement with Tangshan Peoples Government regarding the location of the new R&D center

According to the agreement the two parties are reportedly planning to work on the development of pure electric coaches, hybrid vehicles, and traditional automotive parts, which is expected to satisfy the demands for these parts in the North of China.

SAIC are reportedly working hard on sourcing batteries for their own vehicle line ups, and also working on gearboxes for use in electric gearboxes, and also low energy air conditioning units for future vehicles.
