Greatwall to sell Coolbear in Europe

Greatwall is apparently planning to sell the Coolbear MPV in Europe sometime next year, as Greatwall has recently been awarded European Whole of Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) which was awarded by the Vehicle Certification Agency based in the UK.

The WVTA testing is quite comprehensive and covers 48 different tests, 13 on active safety, 13 on passive safety and eight on emissions and environmental protection, all of which Greatwall Motors was able to successfully pass.

Greatwalls current European market is made up of Italy, although Greatwall does expect to expand aggressively in Eastern and central Europe over the coming months.

The forefront of Greatwalls export drive has been the Greatwall Hover SUV which has seen exports of the model rise by 57% this year with cars being sent to 128 different countries and territories according to GreatWall. The Hover is reportedly built to a four star Euro NCAP level, however it has yet to be tested independently in Europe.

Why don’t these peasants understand that you need to dominate your own market before going outside?

    • avatar JackBlack says:

you obviously have no training in long term strategic planning or marketing.

      • avatar Head Honcho says:

Yes his Peasants comment was pretty stupid and racists but he is somewhat right. They can damage their reputation from the start and need 10 years to recover. Recovering from a damaged reputation is way harder once people have put a negative label on it.

      • avatar tomson says:

Yeah I know enough about marketing to not name my company after a wall and not to call my car “Coolbear”.

    • avatar Ed says:

Maybe it’s because these “peasants” know a hell lot about marketing than you??! And why wouldn’t they if they can earn more money.

      • avatar tomson says:

Yeah, great marketing skill, coolbear..LMAO..Why don’t you stop being a tool. Did I hurt your little feeling by talking about a lame duck company?

        • avatar Ed says:

Great Wall is way better than your American failures. At least Great Wall doesn’t need a bailout to keep them from collapsing, and Cool Bear is a much better name than your Dodge Neons. If Great Wall is a “lame duck” company, then I don’t know if GM can even be called a company. Neverminding that Great Wall’s Chinese names are a hell alot better than American cars’ Chinese names. And I’m guessing you are a marketing expert? If not, then keep your mouth shut.
By the way, pathetic fools can’t hurt my feelings.

Ed why don’t you relax man. You are wound so tight. You are going to be popping diamonds out pretty soon. You don’t have to defend everything Chinese. There are plenty of things made in every country that are total crap. You won’t see me defending any Fords, GM. I would never buy either of them. I have watched every Ford that a family member had purchased fall apart around 100,000 miles of use. I am talking engine failure or a failure that makes the care useless. No one in my family owns a ford anymore. I doubt any of us would ever buy one again. Only my grandfather owned anything GM and it was worse than the Fords. Ed have you ever owned a Great Wall car? Your defense is kind of meaningless dont you think.

Ed is one of those peasant FOB that likes to wear tight thong. Sorry loser, I am Chinese I said it in this page already. I didn’t hurt your feeling? Your anger is in full page on your post. Yeah, I know enough about marketing to not name my car coolbear, retarded tool.

Do you mom work for Great Wall or something, tool? Why are you so defensive about a lame duck company? Great wall is better than American car company, really? even the most nationalist moron is not that dumb to say that, but what can I expect from a retarded tool like you. If Great wall is better than American than why most Chinese company want to buy American car company? Why are all majority Chinese buying German and American(GM)car?

That’s right, you little bitch, STFU. Go back to your little cave, that you came out of.

          Hey ED,

You know why these peasant like you name a car company “Great Wall” or any company because it’s cultural heritage? Because they don’t have any creativity. China school right now doesn’t teach creativity. It’s mostly about memorization.

It’s like a American naming his car company “Statue of Liberty” or a French naming his company Eiffel Tower. I wouldn’t expect a brainless non-creative tool like you to understand.

Now if you don’t like what I say about any company in this page, look the other way or don’t read my post. I call you a tool because you defend a company for no reasons other then because it’s Chinese. You act like I just raped your mother and dishonor you or something. Please grow up tool and learn something about criticism.

Isn’t the coolbear based on a US market Toyota from the beginning/middle of this decade? It should, with some minor work to bump up its safety features, do ok on the EuroNCAP, 3 or 4 stars in most areas I would have thought.

However the main question that most people (in the UK at least) will be asking is “Why did they call it Cool Bear?” Answers on a postcard please!

  3. avatar Head Honcho says:

All I can say is good luck to them over in Europe. They are going to need more than luck.

  4. The Hover never had a four star EuroNCAP test result, (as even Great wall themselves would like you to believe), they had a four star test result in the ECE 94 crash tests. Th main difference is the speed in the frontal collison: 56 in stead of 64 km/h.
    Congratulations, Ash! Erik.
