Buick Excelle Sports Sedan Spotted!


The current Buick Excelle is a top seller for Shanghai GM, its the cheapest model in the range of semi luxurious cars, in November alone the Excelle garnered sales of 22,200 sales in the Chinese marketplace.

The above 2010/2011 Buick Excelle is the first time that future sedan has been seen in China, and could indicate that the Excelle sedan will also carry the 1.6T engine to give the sedan a power punch.

The 1.6T version is quite powerful, with stats saying it will be able to pump out an impressive 235Nm of power at 4000rpm and having a top speed of 220kph but a 0-100km top speed of 9 seconds, the turbo model comes attached to a 6 speed CVT gearbox.

A launch date of May 2010 has been set for an American launch, a Chinese launch date has not yet been set, but it might not be as late as mid to late 2010.

    Sport and CVT don’t go together. Neither does 9 seconds.

      a 1.4L Turbo producing 120hp can shift a Fiat Linea to 100 km/h in 9 seconds

      So I believe the 1.6T shouldn’t have any problems with that . infact i think its a bit slow too .

    Am I right in thinking this car is based on the Cruze? What’s the point of selling basically the same car under two different brands?

      The Buick version will probably be a little more classier with some faux wood.

      The Cruze dashboard is a little flimsy to be honest, but it does feel like a great car.
