Also surprised by the price. 150k base for a 205kph max 1.8T with a likely 9+ second 0-100 isn’t really attractive, esp since it lacks a lot of attractive accessories. 192k top – not sure why people wouldn’t go for a more attractive base model Regal for family/sedan or rohens coupe for sporty ish, both of which deliver more power and comfort from what I’ve read.

MG’s MG6 is looking good. I’d like to see some ‘natural’ photos though, taken in daylight. These studio shots don’t give you a feel for what the car is really like.

It is a lot of wonga, but what else is there that is a hatchback with a turbo? Future Buick Excelle? Im guessing/hoping that prices will fall a lot in the new year.

188 kph / 116 mph from a 1.8? That’s hopeless. Ford Focus manages 118mph in 1.6 mode, 123mph from standard 1.8. Even the turbo MG version only manages 127mph.

What are the CO2 emission figures?

Nasty Rod/b, wasnt the Rover 75 1.8T actually faster on top speed?

The Hyundai i30 1.4 is quicker than the 1.8L according to the Hyundai website. That’s no good, this thing is badged as an MG and it’s slower than a poverty spec Korean motor.

The 1.8 non-turbo Auto 75 even managed 118 Ash! Manual 121mph. Turbos were 127/130mph respectively.

I assume that the MG6 is a smaller car than the 75 too, isnt it? I’m surprised it’s so sluggish.

I love it, this is good news.

If the MG6 is a sucess in China and this in turn leads to full employment at Longbridge then i will support the car.
On a personal note i think the MG6 looks like any other brand in it’s class and doesn’t deserve the MG insignia.

Spotted one in silver in Yantai at the weekend, nice car! Looks like a Fiesta saloon!
