Shanghai VW to launch facelift (and stretched) Tiguan in first quarter
Shanghai VW are likely to have another hit on their hands in the coming months as they launch the locally built VW Tiguan SUV in TSI form.
There was previously a rumor of VW launching a 1.4TSI in 2 wheel drive form, but latest information seems to be that the Tiguan will launch in:
- 1.8TSI manual FWD
- 1.8TSI manual AWD
- 1.8TSI auto AWD
- 2.0TSI auto AWD
The 1.8TSI model is expected to be the best selling model, but its unlikely to get the bells and whistles that will be stuck onto the 2.0TSI model such as self parking system and GPS navigation.
Pricing for the Chinese built Tiguan has not yet been announced, but it is likely to be in the 200-300,000rmb price range. The Tiguan will also continue to be imported, but special models only. The imported 2.0TSI currently sells for 340,000rmb in China.

I would like the 2.0TSI one to replace my Qashqai later this year! I wonder how big the boot is, big enough for a push chair and the rest?
Really don’t like the back…
