Chinese built VW CC spotted out testing

The Passat CC is to be known as just the ‘CC’ in China due to the issue of both FAW and Shanghai Auto both producing various variants of the Passat, previously it was thought that it would be called the Magotan CC in line with the current FAW produced Magotan.

The CC is currently imported into China, but from early 2010 a Chinese built 2.0T and possibly a 1.8T model is expected to be on the market from July 2010.

The CC comes into a market segment where premium mid size sedans are starting to gain traction in a market where tightly concealed black Audi’s and Passats have been the order of the day for quite some time. The CC will be doing battle against the Buick Regal 2.0T, the Honda Spiror, and the Audi A4 1.8T

We will see the Chinese built Passat CC at this years Beijing Auto Show in April. We will keep you updated.
