Geely’s 2010 Plans
Geely has some stellar plans for 2010, besides taking over Volvo and bringing themselves into the international arena, they also have plans for domestic development of their three core brands.
In early 2009, Geely split themselves into three brands, one for China (Emgrand), one for international markets (Eagle), and one for their taxi line up (Englon). These three brands are set to get a boost this year with the launch of new models:
The Emgrand brand will see the launch of the EC825 in roughly May 2010 and will be priced from 120,000rmb to 180,000rmb.
The Eagle brand which currently consists of the Geely Panda model will be getting the biggest boost with the launch of the GX313 (a Panda crossover model), GC515 (compact sedan) and GC515R (compact hatch), and GX178 (Geely’s first SUV) models.
The Englon brand (formerly Shanghai Maple) will be getting the SC618 model.
Geely’s persistence in producing and designing new cars whilst splitting off its brands may seem like a fruitless excercise, but it appears to be paying off for the privately owned car company as it has grown from being very small into a large player capable of taking on state owned companies

Thanks CCT for relieving some of the confusion caused by these new division names within Geely. Perhaps you can do the same for Chery.
