Chang’an Ben Ben Mini to launch in March 2010!
Chang’ans best selling Ben Ben mini car has been given an extensive face lift for 2010 and called the Ben Ben Mini according to auto.sohu.com:
The first generation Ben Ben appeared to be a chunky but useable car, the next generatation appears to have an entirely new door line, rear end and has been given a more cute front end.
Chang’an is determined to take the fight to the BYD F0 and Brilliance FRV which have come in and started to dominate the small car segment in China, the final price of the Ben Ben Mini is expected to be from 30,000rmb to 50,000rmb.

It’s going to be a dog fight to see who can win market share in the small car space in China! So many competitive options! Great for consumers.
Uh Ash…………….I think that Changan will have two Ben Ben models – the “Mini” and the “Love” (also known and the CV5 and CV6). The CV5 (Mini) will have a choice of 0.8l or 1.0l engines, while the CV6 (Love) will still offer a 1.3l engine. I’ve seen pics of the updated CV6……new front/rear lights and a little touch up here and there – a nice (if modest) update. I can see room for both models……..similar to Chery having a QQ3 and a QQ6. Also, the new CV5 shares the same basic platform as the new Suzuki Alto (Suzuki shared technology with Changan on this), so I kind of think of it as the new Changan Alto!!
It definitely has similar looks, which is not a bad thing – the new Alto is a nice little car. If Changan prices this right (in the 30-40,000rmb price range), it can potentially strike the heart of fear into the market share of the QQ3 – it’s much more modern and attractive AND it has more room. Nice little car Changan – best of success with it!
Yes, they split the ben ben ‘brand’ down the middle and brought out various models, I should have been more clear about that.
