SAIC’s argument with the man in the shed

When Nanjing Automobile took on MG-Rover in 2005, an offshoot car company run by Will Riley managed to purchase all of the remaining shells, chassis, and engines for the MG SV sports car which Nanjing evidently have any interest in.  Mr. Riley foolishly called his new company MG X-Power Sports, which irked the rightful owners of the MG brand, Nanjing Automobile, who ultimately took Mr. Riley to the British High Court, finally Mr. Riley was arrested by the police for not providing his workers with their salary.

Interestingly, a few images of Mr. Riley’s ‘factory’ appeared online on the Rover-Tech website:

Obviously SAIC have nothing to fear by a rival MG that appears to be running out of a shed and also look to be quite far away from assembling a car. Shame about all the shells and engines just sitting there though.

Pathetic. Sorry guys but made in China beats made in Britain by a mile.

I personally can’t stand any of these irritating old poshy cunts “racers” showing off on the basis of a degenerate family tree. I.e. Bernie Ecclestone and who’s that other Nazi twat?

  2. avatar vava1 says:

The offensive low life language used in the above comment is totally unnecessary and without value

  3. avatar Brownstar says:

You mean Bernie Eccleston the some of a fisherman………learn the facts fucking retard. So Chery’s are better quality than Aston Martin and Jaguar, fuck I fear for the worlds future.

  4. avatar Ed says:

SAIC beats this made-in-a-shed crap anyday.

WTF are you smoking? let SAIC build a supercharged vehicle first before you blabber non-sense.

this ain’t your whitegoods consumer car, and SAIC dont build anything but whitegoods consumer cars.

where is the heritage and sporting prowess? until SAIC get their act together and building something that a car-lover will want to buy, then can’t really BEAT this man-in-the-shed so to speak.

  5. avatar jezza says:

SAIC should just buy these parts off this guy, and build a rear sports car! If you want to bring MG back, you need a halo car for the enthusiast, MG6 simply will not do!

  6. avatar geez says:

Aston Martin: Designed and Built in the UK

Yes Max Mosley is a cock and the son of Oswald Mosley.

Bernie Eccleston made his own fortuneand didn’t come from money.

Geez – small minded bell end who knows little of the real world

yeah yeah… I know where u getting at. Like I said, I know am stereotyping a lot.

Its just theres smth fundamentally annoying with the British car industry: its all about class. I mean social class.

Think of comprehensive school vs private school in britain: either its garbage or elite. I don’t think of jaguar and Aston martin as representative of a nation at all. You might say they are quintessentially British, but that just serves to show the issue: its all about flaunting your wealth in the face of dirt poor masses. Typical of banker wankers cooking up toxic clever financial products like credit default swaps or other such junk for the immediate satisfaction of their greed.

My point is I’d rather drive a nissan gtr rather than a vanguard, because I won’t look like a cunt. Instead I’ll look like a gear head for a fraction of the price. Nissan (just as an example) is representative of a nation’s industrial strength. The same cannot be said of those British brands. At best, they’re representative of a divided nation, and though the expertise involved in their development may be British to some extent, they remain goods for niche luxury Market and targeted as such by foreign industrialists and investors with deluded visions of grandeur.

    • avatar Brownstar says:

You mean Nissan that is owned by Renault? You have a very old fashioned view of the UK.

The Mini is built in the UK and is not an ‘upper class’ vehicle and neither is the Nissan Micra which is built in Sunderland, in a factory that regularly is given the top qualty marks of all Nissan plants.

Brits with money, historical money, do not flaunt their wealth, its peope with new money (footballers & the Russians) who have not taste and flaunt their wealth.
