Toyota to recall 75552 RAV4′s in China
FAW-Toyota, the JV between First Automobile Works and Toyota, are planning to recall a staggering 75552 RAV4 SUV models which were only recently launched in China due to the international accelerator problems that have affected the company worldwide.
The factory responsible for producing the RAV4, Tianjin FAW-Toyota, have already suspended production of the vehicle until the problem can be solved. All previously built models are going to be recalled and repaired for free. FAW-Toyota are already contacting affected owners via telephone, text message and post.

I guess the shocker here is that 75,000 RAV4′s have already been sold since lineoff in China last March. Gasgoo reported at that time that FAW-Toyota had hopes of selling just 50,000 in 2009.
This is going to hurt Toyota’s reputation and sales, I’m not so sure about its quality now.
It is just a good thing they are finally doing it and done trying to keep it under wraps. Have any Chinese brands had recalls or does that not happen in China?
