Geely sets up Beijing office to oversee Volvo


Geely has set up a subsidiary company in Beijing to control and manage its latest asset, Volvo. In 2009 Geely went on a massive buying spree which saw it snap up a large share in the British taxi maker, LTI, the Australian gearbox maker DSI, and also the crown jewel in its portfolio, Volvo.

Geely have set up a subsidiary company in Beijing that will oversee the daily management and running of Volvo. The office is already up and running in Beijing’s economic and technology development zone (北京经济技术开发区) and was officially set up on Dec 22nd 2009, and has a license to run until 2039, which shows that Geely are looking ahead!

Rumors of a Beijing Volvo plant are also circulating.
