Facelift Skoda Octavia spotted

The Skoda branding is a relatively recent introduction into China and has proved to be a profit

able introduction for Shanghai VW. Traditionally seen as VW’s bargain bin brand, Skoda China appear to be on a similar wave length to VW’s own offerings in China.

The latest Octavia brings the Chinese Octavia back in line with its European counterpart and gives the Skoda a more softer, rounder set of front lights.
The facelift Octavia will have 8 models in total, these will be split over engine size and will be: 1.4 (three models), 1.6 (two models), 1.8 (1 model) and 2.0l (two models). Gearboxes will also be a mixture of 6 speed and 7 speed DSG models.

An eventual launch date for the Octavia has not yet been announced, but it is likely to make a debut at the Beijing Car Show and will possibly see cars in the dealerships by April or May at the latest.

The original Octavia struck strong into the heart of the compact car segment, and the facelift is expected to give it a further strike.
