Is this the new MG3?

Recently a small car was spotted on the back of a transporter, obviously it was well camouflaged, except for one minor detail; the badges recess where a future badge will sit is octagonal, and the only car company that is currently planning a small car and has an octagonal badge is obviously MG:

The pictures have already been annotated in Chinese, but what they are basically pointing out is that the wing mirrors are the same as the MG3 SW’s, and the rear bumper design is similar.

Maybe it is an MG R2?

I think that this is the MG version of the future Roewe 150.
It makes only sense with the 1.5 Turbo to compete with cars like Seat Ibiza FR, VW Polo GTI or Opel Corsa GSI. MGs must have a powerful engine and not only an sporty design!

I’m curious how it will look.

Looks ugly as sin with tiny wheels to me.

Does look a bit odd… But well camouflaged so hard to tell

From wher I sit the door mirrors are nothing alike!

The camoflaged car has mirrors attached from below to the door skin itself whereas the MG3 has mirrors attached from the inside edge to the window frame.

Mirrors are meaningless – the original photographer should instead enlarge the area under the rear bumper to see if that honeycomb pattern is made up of octagons. That’s the sort of MG touch which be a giveaway.

It says on the picture, the details are the same, but the look has been changed.

I know what it says on the picture and it’s wrong! It’s quite a stretch to say something is the same but different. There is absolutely no similarity between the mirrors on this car and those on the MG3.

Hi “Rick in China,” why don’t you just go home!
I’m sure there’s nothing ugly there. I’ll bet all cars are beautiful and have big wheels where you come from.
If you are suffering here so much, just go home.
