Chery X5 SUV to launch this month

Chery’s flagship X5 SUV which will be sold under the Reely sub brand is expected to launch this month on the 28th according to auto reports. The X5 recently took part in the Paris-Dakar rally where it did reasonably well for a first try at the terrain, and certainly proved its worth as an offroader.

Pricing is expected to start at a reasonable 159,800rmb for the base 2.0TCI version. Its the first time that this engine has been used in an SUV, whilst not being an absolute beast of an engine it can push out 235Nm of torque and 146kW of power which will be enough for most inner city jaunts and the occasional light offroading. A turbo diesel version is also planning to launch.
