MG2 spotted out testing down under!
Over the weekend the UK magazine, Auto Express posted spy pictures of the forthcoming MG2 out testing in what very much looks like an Aussie backdrop.
News on the MG2, or the Roewe 150, is still slim on the ground. Its not likely to be using the the Rover 25 platform that later became the MG3, but it might use the 1.4L engine from the MG3 for the Chinese markets but it is unlikely to be used in the UK market. The MG2 has been spotted out in China on several occasions, but these pictures are the clearest yet of what the future super mini will look like. The MG2 is likely to be shown at the Beijing Car Show in two weeks time and will spearhead SAIC’s entry into the

I agree that it is very unlikely to be on the Rover 25/200 platform.
The fuel filler and exhaust system have swapped sides – something not normally done on an existing platform.
Looks pretty ok, but pretty dull as well.
It’s definitely in Australia. The number plate is blurred out to avoid checking in the online registration checker for the state of Victoria, but the 2010 Victorian registration label is clearly visible on the windscreen.
The 550 and 350 were also registered for evaluation in Victoria.
Cant be – it looks like its just rained and there are no kangaroos.

Well judging by the stickers on the back, where ever it is, it’s a right-hand-drive country. Looks like Oz to me.
