GM to recall over 7000 Cadillac CTS’s in China
From Xinhua:
BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) — GM China Investment Co., Ltd. is to recall 7,942 imported Cadillac CTS cars in the Chinese mainland from April 28 due to possible brake fluid leakages, China’s quality watchdog said Thursday.
The rubber part of the brake lining could trap water with impure chemical materials, which could lead to erosion of the brake lining’s connection point with the brake cylinder, a statement posted on the official website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said.
The erosion could lead to possible leakages of brake fluid, affecting braking.
From April 28, the Cadillac after-sales service center would contact customers and help replace the old brake linings for free, the statement said.
This car has always been a CCT favorite.

Here we have an example of a “voluntary recall”. GM found the problem, informed GAQSIQ, and committed to bring em back in. To protect its brand it can’t do anything less…..
Pay attention domestics!
A recall is not a good thing. Chinese cars have lower recall rates than GM. Pay attention GM is more like it. They just had a recall of another car earlier. Chinese manufacturers have voluntarily recalled products, but not as much as GM.
Chinese companies aren’t under the same rules as foreign ones. They can get away without having a recall in China.
No they can’t. Nobody can, the consumers there are not stupid, they are very upset recently at HP due to their crappy machines, and the company pushing the blame onto the consumers. While an uproar rose against Toyota because Toyota was treating its Chinese customers like crap. While the American customers got benefits and price cuts. The Chinese consumers know when your product are bad quality, and they won’t let you get away with it.
