Dongfeng’s first crossover spotted out testing
Dongfeng started with its own small car range several years ago and seems to have hit a sweet spot with certain models, especially with the Fengshen, or the S40 as it more commonly known in English. The S40 came in sedan form and hatch form but with the hatch version being known as the H30, which has now been given a crossover makeover that will appeal to those that require a car to have extra black plastic parts on it and raised suspension.
The Crossover scene has exploded in China with the launch of the Suzuki SX4 several years ago, now many car manufacturers have learned of the old Western trick of adding black plastic cladding to their motors to raise the prices 10-15% and to market them as lightweight offroaders in FWD guise. Dongfeng is not going to let a bandwagon pass it by and have come up with the H30 Cross, which will be on display at the Beijing Auto Show next month.
