Facelift Roewe 750 out testing and Roewe Hybrid also in the works
The Roewe 750 came out in November 2006 at roughly the same time as CCT, at the time both looked great, but the Roewe 750 has lost some of its youthful cheer in the three years that it has been on the market and thus a facelift is in order.
The above spy shots indicate that the 750 might be getting some LED daylight running lights like the Audi A4L, and also a new lower bumper which does away with the slanted indicators that are currently in use on the 750.
A BSG hybrid version of the R750 will also be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, which has now become one of the ‘norms’ for Chinese car companies wanting to develop a car on the cheap. The BSG version allows the car to turn off its engine automatically when it comes to a stop (for example, at traffic lights) and then utilizes an oversized alternator which kick starts the car into life as soon as the accelerator pedal is pressed. The top speed of the BSG version will be 205kph, and will be able to travel 500km on a single tank of fuel, which ultimatley is a 20% saving over the regular gasoline version. The British company, Ricardo, have been instrumental in aiding SAIC with the drive system on the BSG version.
