Geely Emgrand Concept Vehicles for Beijing 2010 – Part Two

Part One can be seen here

Geely’s Emgrand brand came into being in early 2009 and was positioned to be Geely’s premium brand in a sea of mediocre cars, however Geely have seen some good sales in the past few months with their recent Emgrand sedans, especially in Eastern provinces such as Shandong where there is no strong automaker to control the market.

The Zhuo Yue limousine concept seems to be back, and looking less like a Rolls Royce and gaining an extra seat over 2009′s limo model, which came under massive attack on the internet when it was first leaked to the Web. Rolls Royce officials were reportedly less than impressed with the concept at the Shanghai Show, however the latest model appears to have a style of its own rather than being a Roller Clone.

SUV’s seem to be playing a big part of the Geely Emgrand collection for 2010 with several large imposing models being set for show, the models themselves seem to have certain Honda Pilot (namely the Emgrand EX9) and the EX7 and EX8 appears to be very butch looking Toyota RAV4′s.

The star of the above is arguably the Geely Tiger GT coupe, whilst the front end looks to be a little strange (hey, it is a concept car) the rear end seems to have a certain appeal to it with a mixture of Porsche rear with lashings of Buick style Chrome which seem to work extremely well.

The EP9 truck is a new one for us, and we dont have a facial rendering of what the full thing might look like, but it would be interesting to wonder if it one day might become a Volvo truck.

Wonder if its occurred to them that the cash spent on developing so many concepts might have gone some way to improving their product in the real world?

I think this is an attempt from Geely to build a different brand image… I’ve read reviews and it appears that their products are getting better.

The GT is still striking. It would be so much more beautiful if it had larger wheels to fill out those wheel wells. Also a photographer to get some flattering angles would be great, too.

Geely GE is back…I guess Rolls-Royce scared geely to death. Volvo people are hiding under a desk.

II think Geely is going to be a major player in the world when they close on Volvo, if they com to US I will be the first one to buy Geely

Wow I am really impressed. With the exception of the Rolls wannabe the rest of the concepts look great. I used to think that Chery would be the best for for the American market but now I am starting to think that Geely may be a really good fit. As long as they understand that they will need to establish a good track record for about 10 years before they can charge prices even above Hyundai and Kia.
