Chery QQ3 facelift to launch in Beijing

The Chery QQ was Chery’s first ‘big’ car, it sold in the hundreds of thousands since its conception in 2003, the QQ may have been a Chevrolet Spark clone but that didn’t slow its sales figures down, in fact being mentioned in the same sentence as a world famous Chevrolet car probably boosted its sales figures. Chery probably understands that the game is coming to a close for the QQ, which was later the QQ3 when a sedan version named the QQ6 was launched, and thus a facelift has been planed:

The QQ has had some serious changes to its front lights which make it look a lot more like the Riich M1 hatchback and also the rear end has been given a nip and tuck of the surgeons knife to bring it into 2010. See more at the Beijing Auto Show next week!

Someone help me with Chery’s brand series. I thought there were three: Riich, Rely and Karry. And it was my understanding that Riich was a “luxury” brand. Now this little Matiz-based model the QQ, and the M1, are anything but luxury class vehicles. So what series do these minicars really fit into? I would guess maybe the little Faira series, but that one seems to be history. Am I the only one confused by Chery?
