Want a limo? Civilian edition of Chairman Hu’s Red Flag to be on show

Chairman Hu Jin Tao’s Red Flag limo caused quite a stir last year when it became the official troop inspection car for China’s 60th birthday bash in mid 2009. Now FAW, the makers of Red Flag, are planning to show off their Civilian Edition of the limo, although they don’t actually say what is different from the Chairmans, although we can guess it is some serious bad ass safety systems.

The limo itself is to be on display next week, and will be carrying FAW’s self developed V12 engine, the car is reportedly built on top a Toyota Prado chassis which gives it a sturdy base from which to accelerate. More next week from the Beijing Auto Show!

Me too. It’s got a strange kind of attraction, don’t know what it is, but I just love this Hongqi limo.
