Dongfeng Nissan hoping to sell 6000 Nissan March’s per month

march 300x225 Dongfeng Nissan hoping to sell 6000 Nissan Marchs per monthDongfeng Nissan clearly have some high hopes for the Nissan March which will launch in China in August this year, Dongfeng-Nissan have already aimed at sales of 6000 units per month for the 1.5 March.

The March is the first small car that Dongfeng Nissan have introduced and comes at a time when multi nationals are entering into the small car segment whilst the Chinese domestic manufacturers are heading towards the premium segment where joint venture cars have reigned supreme, in short a clash is about to happen and who comes off worse has yet to be decided.

The March will be going up against the Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta, Ford Fit,and the popular Sail. Pricing for the March has not yet been announced, but it is likely to be sub 80,000rmb as it is aiming to take on highly popular Sail and Swift.

Is that a Nissan? or a Chery? THIS is closer to copying than the so called Chinese “copies” I’ve seen recently.

Whoa there Ed………easy now killer. KNOW YOUR FACTS before you type something like this. The Nissan March (known as the Micra outside of Asia) was first produced in 1982, and if this current March resembles anything, it looks like the PREVIOUS TWO GENERATIONS of the March (code names K12 ad K12C – the new model is code name W02A). The K12 (where the current model began it’s lineage design wise) was first produced in 2003 (which means it was in design phase 1-2 years before that)……maybe you can enlighten us as to WHICH Chery they might have been copying? In 2001, Chery had a grand total of ONE car in it’s lineup….besides, have you looked at ANY other pics of the March besides this one? Have you seen ANY interior pics of this car? Show me a Chery that even REMOTELY has the interior looks of this car…..sorry buddy, there isn’t one. Nissan hasn’t copied ANYONE – this is simply the next evolutionary step in a model that began life almost THIRTY YEARS AGO. Know your facts, ok? Your post was ENTIRELY unnecessary and nothing but incendiary – why? Why blast Nissan for a car that has a long heritage all of it’s own?

For me, I LOVE the new March. It is fresh new look for Nissan (ESPECIALLY the interior), and they can keep the price in the 60-70,000rmb range (below the Livinia), Nissan will have a tough time keeping up with demand.

Bit of a rash statement is it not? This is an all new and very important car for nissan. Building in emerging markets on a new world platform that is strong, cheap and easy to build. It will be sold in europe as the Micra and our stocks come from the Indian factory.

It may not look that different to the current Micra/March and some would say the older one was better looking but this is an original car with design cues taken only from it’s predecessor.

As Jon says, try checking out other pictures of it and you just might change your opinions.

      Try this for size.

      Ed nice try.

lol. I got my point across perfectly. So now do you realize how ridiculous people’s previous claims were? This is why you shouldn’t claim something unless you have solid evidence. Or if you actually know about the companies. This does resemble a Chery to me, but it might be entirely original. So realize that Nissan is not the only company working hard and proving themselves.

People, do yourselves a favor and DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS GUY (Ed) ANYMORE. Ed is just pushing our buttons to see what will happen – childish and a WASTE of this forum’s space.

I’m going to talk about the March…..Ash, you’re saying that this will have the 1.5 engine? Will China also have the option of the smaller 1.2 engine as well? I hope so………..that would give Nissan a real “gas friendly” model and a nice low price entry level version of the March. It’s starting to look like we have a new market segment here in China – the “LPFH” (low priced foreign hatch) segment!!! :) With the Swift, Sail and the upcoming March (maybe others in the future?), this could be a hot segment in 1-2 years.

        • avatar Head Honcho says:

When is the new Swift coming out? The end of this year or next year?

      • avatar Head Honcho says:

Ed this version of the March looks pretty damn close to the last one. So how did they copy Chery since this model has been out a long time? The next question is why would anyone want to copy Chery?

        • avatar Ed says:

Did I say Nissan copied Chery? I said “THIS is closer to copying than the so called Chinese “copies” I’ve seen recently.” Which were not copies at all.
It’s funny how people cannot stand it when a manufacturer like Nissan is accused, but they don’t give a crap when shamelessly attacking Chinese manufacturers. All I am saying is that this is extremely unfair.

        • avatar Head Honcho says:

The problem is that is isn’t closer since it isn’t far off from their old one that was around before Chery. Your comments never make sense anymore. Are you on any medication?

        • avatar Ed says:

I said “Which(the Chinese “copies”) were not copies at all”, and I did not say how much closer it was.

Fyi, no I’m not on any medication. Thanks for the concern though (not).

        • avatar Ed says:

So it may have been only a tiny bit closer, but that is up to your personal judgment.
