Facelift Suzuki Swift to launch tomorrow
Suzuki have had a big hit on their hands from day one when they launched the Suzuki Swift into China, the low cost mini car that has a lot of funk about it has been a best seller seller for a long time, initially only coming in 1.3L form but later came in 1.5L form, which then followed on with a variation of special editions which kept the Chinese motoring press chattering the Swift for quite some time. It’s not clear when the Swift will be replaced by a new generation but its unlikely to change any time soon if sales continue as they are.
Chang’an Suzuki will launch the Swift Champion model tomorrow (10/06/2010) and will see the Swift get a sporty facelift but the 1.5L producing 138Nm of torque will stay the same, meaning that no Suzuki Swift GTi anytime soon.

Any changes other than the bumpers?
Maybe a bit of fairy dust to keep its magic…
Details of the all-new MY11 Suzuki Swift were, in fact, released here in the UK yesterday. See Autocar.co.uk’s New Suzuki Swift revealed article here: http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/250430/
But when will it make it to China?
Does anyone know the the price of the 1.5 model in China?
Russ, around 88,000rmb to 98,000rmb depending on specification.
Thank CCT!
Either going for the swift or Honda Fit…. but price is good…
Russ
Honda Fit probably as it has a bigger boot and flappy pedals for gear changing! A novelty, but still cool to have!
Swifts do hold their prices well though.
I really wish they had the 1.6 here…. would be a done deal…. but need a car fast… used to drive company car here…. fake MX5…. haha…. be good to get into my own… thanks for your help!
What is a fake MX5?!
I was wondering about that too.
My bad…. It was a BMW X5 knockoff…. if you live in China you’ve seen them… if not Google “BMW X5 knockoff”….
That’s the CEO, pretty well known on here. Had my hopes up for a cheap 2 door sporty car for a moment there….
Severely disappointed as well.
