Lifan planning sports car?!

Lifan is a Chongqing based automotive producer, a relative minnow even in China and mostly sells to its local area i.e. Sichuan, Chongqing, and Yunnan, meaning you rarely see them along the highly developed east coast of China were cars from JV producers are favored.

Lifan’s current line up is made up of the tiny 320, the 520 and the 620 as well as a recently announced SUV, but the icing on their cake might be their forthcoming sports car. Although still at the rendering stage, and not even approaching concept stage it appears that Lifan are thinking down the line when it comes to future development.

Further news on the Lifan Coupe is not available, although CCT will press for more with Lifan.

I doubt anything will come of this. The Brilliance Coupe which seems to be a half decent (I haven’t though driven it) sports car has really poor sales.

This thing is really really ugly. They should fire who ever drew this.

that’s hysterical, it actually looks ok from the front but the side view beyond a joke

I will speak when the final product/concept comes out.

Looks like they were trying to modify the shape of a GTR slightly but the proportions have all gone out of whack.

With the hot hatch segment heating up its only a matter of time before more sports cars are needed. No point spitting out crap like this though.

Actually I rather like the front and rear ends, there nicely proportioned and have a cleaness of line that a few German car makers *Cough*BMW*Cough*Merc*Cough* could do with re-learning.

That said, the side profile is… ..not so good. The wheels are swamped by the bodywork, the apex of the roof is just behind the windscreen rather than over the drivers head for max headroom and both the front and rear ends seem a little too long for the cars other proportions.

There’s plenty here to work on though, and if it ever hits the concept stage it will be a looker hopefully. However I must agree that I can’t see it going into even limited production.
