Bao Jun’s first car spotted out testing
Bao Jun is the product of a three way tie up between SAIC, GM, and Wuling all of whom have conspired to make a new brand to take into the rural and suburban areas where the need for cheap automobiles is quite high. Bao Jun will be controlled by Wuling and with a lot of input from SAIC and GM with regards to engineering and R&D until Wuling have raised their game high enough to carry out their own R&D.
The first car, whilst extremely well camoflauged, looks a lot like the Wuling Demo Car that was posted onto CCT a few months ago.
The Demo Car from Wuling was initially shown of at the 2008 Nanning Guangxi Zhuangzu County 50th anniversary celebration, but since then it has been in hiding. We did hear rumors of it apparently heading to the Beijing and Shanghai Auto Shows but those rumors died off close to the media day of each show, a new rumor has started and that is that the Demo Car will be on show at April 2011′s Shanghai Auto Show where it will be officially launched and then released to the public in May 2011.

Do current Wuling sales count as GM global sales, or SAIC global sales? How about this new Bao Jun brand. Will this count as Wuling sales only? Three-way joint ventures can get very confusing!
