Fiat 500 to be imported into China at the end of the year?!

fiat 500 300x204 Fiat 500 to be imported into China at the end of the year?!According to various media reports both in English and Chinese, it appears that Fiat maybe readying to import the Fiat 500 into China at the end of the year and may plan to take on MINI in the small premium hatch segment.

The redesigned Fiat 500 has already taken Europe by storm and is sure to be a modest hit in China, but will it be enough to take on the MINI empire that has already gained a strong foothold in the Chinese market? On the pricing side of things, the 500 is expected to be premium, and media outlets are already guessing somewhere in the 200,000rmb marker.

Only time will tell if Fiat’s plans are true or not, if it will launch in China then the Guangzhou Auto Show later this year is likely to be the best place for it to air itself.

I would rather say this Fiat 500 will never be as successful as Mini. To most Chinese, cheap Italian cars are never on the shopping list, they prefer Japanese even choosing between Japanese & Korean cars. Guangzhou Auto is smart to buy a Fiat platform and dress it in a Japanese skin, then we have a domestic brand Camry in the upcoming GZ auto show.

I think the Fiat version of the Mini is not too bad, I have seen it in London city, they are the perfect city cars, small, practical, and I think the price is not too bad. The Fiat 500 convertible wins for me, it is a shame the pink version was limited as I would really love to have one.

The FIAT500 outsells the MINI absolutely everywhere it is being offered. The car beats the MINI in every discipline and shows it in rather impressive ways. No doubt in my mind it will also outsell the MINI in the US or in CHINA.

It outsells the Mini mostly based on price. It will have that advantage in China again. You have to get the abarth model to out perform the Mini and that is a tight race where price is must closer to even.

Maybe most of you dont really know this small beautifull car. It’s outrageous to call it “fiat version of mini ” ….what are you talking abaout?? It’s one of the most appreciated car in the world, one of the biggest succes in europe, it has a built quality that mini cant even dream, it has performance and handling superior to any mini……there is no comparison….mini is not a city car, is a bmw, a small bmw, a brand with NO EXPERIENCE in small cars, fiat is the most famous brand in europe for small cars, their production is focussed only to this segment of the market, they build small cars since the early years of ’900…..and fiat 500 is the maximum of this long reaserch

The first mini car was the Fiat 500, the mini mini was a copy cat car, that came out two years later, but they put the engine at the front to make it different and a bigger engine, the fiat is still the best, the mini is too low and people look down on you while you drive.
