Greatwalls i7 Crossover to launch later this year

Greatwall are on a wall with their small car range, despite some small hiccups along the way that made them rethink their European strategy, their Chinese plans are going extremely well. Their latest small car is a crossover version of the i7 hatchback, although it appears to have lost its interesting grill and front end, and has been given a much improved face.

The handsome crossover version is expected to launch in September this year, and will come with the choice of 1.3L and 1.5L engines as well as a 5 speed manual or a CVT gearbox, pricing is expected to be in the 60-80,000rmb marker.

This crossover version is showing serious signs of being an extremely nice car, and will no doubt further Greatwall Motor’s plans to dominate in both the mini car and the SUV/Pick up truck segment, Great Wall are also one of the largest automotive exporters and small cars like this are likely to improve their standing abroad as well.

    Looks nice. A bit Kia-style, but I like that.

  2. avatar CCT says:

    I also really like this!

  3. avatar Bilbo says:

    Looks ok but still a copied Yaris from the rear and major elements of Suzuki SX4 front.

  4. avatar Chad says:

    ^LOL. Copied Yaris rear? Are you kidding me? The tail light shape is different and the entire bottom half is different. The only thing that’s the same is the general shape, and let’s not kid ourselves- the shape was pretty generic in itself.

    And the front looks like an SX4? Well, I don’t even know what to say about that because they look nothing alike.

    I get the feeling people here try to find similarities just for the sake of it…

    @Bilbo
    What isn’t copied, to you?

  6. avatar Wes says:

    Definitely a Kia Forte Koup front-end slapped on to a Toyota Yaris back-end.

    Really, I don’t see how anyone can take Great Wall seriously. They are the Foakley sunglasses of the auto industry.

    Come off the copy shit. tell you what, I can hardly tell any difference between Suzuki Swift and Skoda Fabia. why don’t you guys talk about that? You know what, Chinese people are getting so open-minded when westerners are still stubborn like a stick in the mud. That’s the reason why China is getting bigger and bigger.

    Copy??? Good for you. You know what, Koreas are getting crazy now. Recently they have claimed the confucius was Korean, Yao Ming, the NBA star from China, could possibly be originated from Korea, paper was originally made by their fucking anscestors, the mid-autumn holiday was initially celebrated in Korea, which I am wondering whether they know why we Chinese celebrate the day, so on and so forth. Let me tell you this, there will be a day, when Christ truly revive in Jueslam, speaking”my God, I was born in Korea and definitely a Korean”
