BAIC working on their own B-Class, or is the B-Class going into production in China
As many Chinese car pundits already know, Beijing Auto Industry Corp (BAIC) has big production plans for their own range of cars which are so far SUV and sedan models, however it appears that BAIC could be working on its own MPV based heavily on the Mercedes B-Class range of small people carriers, or Mercedes and BAIC are planning to put the B-Class into production in the Chinese market via their successful joint venture in China.
Power for the forthcoming MPV is expected to be a 1.5L, although a 1.8L or a 2.0L is expected.

Just a thought: This shouldn’t be the BYD/Benz JV electric car based on a Benz platform?
Looks like a small facelift for the B-Class. I think it’s still an MB, although it’s possible MB sold the rights to BIAC. Especially the rear doesn’t look very Mercy anymore.
I see the fuel cap is at the opposite side than the b-class and also only 4 bolts for the wheels, the b-class has normally 5 bolts.
so many changes for a “new” b-class made in china
