Photoblog: Geely’s Emgrand EC825


There is now no distinction between the markets that joint venture companies and self developed companies are entering in, both are bringing the fight to each other with JV’s producing mini cars in the low tens of thousands of RMB pricing sector, and self developed brands that are developing mid size sedans to take on the likes of the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. The Geely Emgrand EC825 is Geely’s first mid size sedan, it measures in at (LxWxH) 4905 x 1830 x 1495mm and has a wheel base of 2805mm, making it slightly bigger in certain aspects than the best selling Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.


Initial reports indicate that the EC825 will launch with a 2.4L Mitsubishi engine mated to a 4 speed gearbox (although this seems to break with their naming series). Prices are expected to be in the 120-150,000rmb marker and will be

    It looks good. Hope to find it in Volvo-dealerships in Europe soon.

    From the side profile, one can tell it is based on last generation Honda Accord. It is also hopeless to find a Mitsubishi power train in this latest Geely model. Yet EC825 is a great improvement over BYD’s F6/G6/I6…..
