Small car segment to hot up over coming months – Hyundai Verna to launch soon
The unstoppable Ford Fiesta and Suzuki Swift are going to get some stiff competition over the next few months as a myriad of new small cars launch in China, specifically the Hyundai Verna. The Verna will launch on August 23rd and will be built via the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture in Beijing, it’s addition to the market is likely to further spur on deals on the Ford Fiesta and the Suzuki Swift which are already highly competitive in China.
The Verna will launch with the choice of a 1.3L and a 1.6L engine with the usual option of manual and automatic gearboxes, the actual price has not yet been announced but it is expected to range from from 70,000rmb to 110,000rmb when launched on Monday.

Somehow this car does not look right to me. As if somebody cut away part of the hood and put it in at the trunk.
The car looks fine. Looks like you’ve been looking at crap China styling too long.
I agree. It looks like Hyundai are mucking about with Chrysler’s old “cab forward” look.
I think it looks effin hot…tho i would personally pass on the canary yellow paint job. Ferrari Modena 360 in yellow, yes, the Verna, no. Great job Hyundai, really feelin this new aggressive and youthful design language..
