Hong Qi HQE spotted out!

The Hong Qi HQE is the latest big limo from FAW and was the official car of Chairman Hu Jin Tao during the 2010 Reviewing of the Troops in Beijing where he shouted ‘Hello Comrades‘ and ‘You work hard, Comrades!’ from the top of his presidential ride, now that car is going to be produced for civilians also and will be sold openly to private buyers.

The Chinese media is reffering to the HQE as the ‘Chinese Rolls‘, and it certainly deserves its moniker. The above spy pictures show what seems to be a production ready model, and is somewhat different to the concept car that FAW unleashed earlier this year that was a mixture of traditional and modern styles.

Engine power will be derived from FAW’s own self developed 6.0L V12 engine, and is capable of 300Kw of power and 550Nm of torque. Hong Qi are also working on their Audi A6 killing sedan, which be a return to Hong Qi’s original mandate from Mao himself to build a luxury car fit for state leaders.

Firstly, this thread is about a V12 limo from an established Chinese icon. Hongqi, please show us a burnout ;-)

    next…

Actually no, there is no agree to disagree. There is more than enough evidence that shows the world that South Korea is a very insecure xenophobic nation that is full of cowards and “pussies” and arguing about things is all the “vocal” Sth Koreans can do. If you can’t agree with that then you need to actually learn something about your own country and start to critcise your own government instead of pushing baseless attacks on your own neighbours who really might genuinely want to help Korea unify and become a nation of its own in the 21st century. Whether that be under a “western” style or an “eastern” style is a bit of mute point if it’s good for Korea/Taiwan/HK (there are issues) etc….

China is still a communist country and many (western) foreigners who live here may (or may not, chime in guys) agree with me that when the Sh## hits the fan or things need to get done that things happen and issue is cleared up very quickly. The CCP cares about keeping power and most Chinese that I know (again. Chinese, feel free to chime in) don’t really care as long as their lives are improving and they know that the country is doing well so their kids can have a better future than they may have had. The progress in the past 10 years has been pretty astonishing in many ways.

Many Koreans in Guangzhou (sorry I can’t speak for the rest of the country) don’t make any attempt to even learn anything about China, do all their shopping at Korean-Chinese supermarkets and only go to Korean restaurants for a feed or use locally supplied Korean newspapers to get around and have food delivered. I know this from a Korean I met who was fed up with Koreans and wanted to know other foreigners (but not Chinese). She did say life was similar but better in Shanghai. Coincidentally my local Korean (Chinese owned) feed joint serves better food and service than I get from Korean owned places in my own country.

HQE might have meant Hong Qi Emperor but not asking and assuming it was a “stupid” Chinese name is not much of an argument really. No company is immune from an odd name so why single one out??

    @woxihuanpijiu

Koreans displaying Xenophobia? Hmmm I’ve heard that before and it’s getting old.

Korea’s lack of trust in her neighbors (Japan & especially China) is obvious & justified by recent history.

Are you kidding me? China does NOT want unification of the two Koreas let alone aid in the unification. Dude you’ve been in China way too long if you believe that. Only a naive fool would believe that non-sense.

I see you are impressed by Chinese expediency. The only reason China apparently “get sh*t done” is because China do not play by systematic process of doing things (some in the States might call this “red tape”). Is this a good thing? In the long haul NO! It demonstrates clearly that China is run by the whims of government/CCP officials.

As for China’s growth, the double digit growth of China isn’t surprising (nor is it a new economical miracle) if you think about it, as she is nation of 1.3 billion people chugging along catching up to the rest of the developed nations.

Koreans eat Korean food even in China because authentic Chinese food doesn’t go well with Koreans. I’d be praying for a PANDA EXPRESS if I had to go to China. And why would a Korean shop at a Chinese market when a Korean market is available? Again Koreans don’t trust Chinese products.

And lastly, if you read my earlier post you would know that I never called Hong Qi “stupid”. I just called it a disaster since it did sound like HONKY! It was funny as sh*t!

But gotta say CHEVOO is a major fail.

  3. avatar woxihuanpijiu says:

Again, this thread is REALLY about the Hongqi vehicle and all comments below are directed at a few (XXXXXX)….. sorry, best NOT to repeat profanities.

@k_g seeing your initial response of “k” and then editing the post show’s how insecure you are about you own life and that of your family and countrymen.

There is a lot of current info about Korean xenophobia online if you bothered to look… which being a xenophobe you won’t right?

“Are you kidding me? China does NOT want unification of the two Korea’s let alone aid in the unification. Dude you’ve been in China way too long if you believe that. Only a naive fool would believe that non-sense.”

Only someone who doesn’t want their country to unify and be a peaceful nation would think like this. Are you afraid that the soiled South would be looked down upon by the genetically superior North? Over the past few years Sth Korea has had a huge influx or foreign wives, this WILL slowly erode the genetics on South Korea….

“The only reason China apparently “get sh*t done” is because China do not play by systematic process of doing things (some in the States might call this “red tape”). Is this a good thing? In the long haul NO! It demonstrates clearly that China is run by the whims of government/CCP officials. ”

How is eliminating red tape a bad thing? If you want your 1.3-4 billion people to get around then building more infrastructure is quite beneficial. Gandhi complained that the British built a railway network in India but ultimately that network gave him the freedom and power to connect with his people to fight for independence. ANYONE who has been to a Chinese Railway station in a holiday knows much more than some “censored”…..

“Koreans eat Korean food even in China because authentic Chinese food doesn’t go well with Koreans. I’d be praying for a PANDA EXPRESS if I had to go to China. And why would a Korean shop at a Chinese market when a Korean market is available? Again Koreans don’t trust Chinese products.”

Are you so naive you think Korean food in China is made by Koreans……… if you don’t like or can eat Chinese food then you and other Koreans have pretty big problems really. Living in a new country opens peoples taste buds and gets them to try things they have not tried before. China is a big place, Cantonese food in Shanghai tastes nothing like local food in Guangdong…. is there really a big deal?

Funny, Korean’s don’t trust Chinese products but in some strange way my parents 52″ Samsung Oled is Chinese made….. can’t be too bad then (it’s the second one, first flatscreen (Samsung, Korean made) lasted 5 years amd was covered by insurance)….. So let’s assume ALL Korean owned restaurants import all their ingredients fresh for Korean…….. yeah right….

“And lastly, if you read my earlier post you would know that I never called Hong Qi “stupid”. I just called it a disaster since it did sound like HONKY! It was funny as sh*t!”

You mean this post with no reference to stupid and insulting Caucasian and Chinese folk?

“*sigh* “Hong Qi” sounds too much like HONKY. Another Chinese naming disaster!”

Korea desires & welcomes unification; it’s China that doesn’t want it, and China certainly won’t help. We want to undo the damage that Moa/Marxist regime inflicted on our brothers in the north & assimilate them to South Korea ASAP.

It’s only matter of time that the current communist regime will collapse and China dissolves into several states.

“…soiled South would be looked down upon by the genetically superior North?”

Whoa genetic superiority? Sounds like you’ve been Sinofied, you’re starting to sound Chinese. Next you’ll be spewing how Han’s are genetically superior to all Asians. Get the hell out of China before it really screws with your head.
    ______________________________________________________________

“How is eliminating red tape a bad thing?”

I’m all for eliminating red tape, but that does not include eliminating systematic procedure. Criminals do what they want, whenever they want. Law enforcement & judicial process operate under due process. India gets things done slower than China only because they are a democracy.

China is so expedient what ends up happening often is they states some outrageous claim (Three gorge dam claims anyone? Or some Chinese automakers’ claim of becoming the largest car maker blah blah blah). If the Chinese would shut the hell up and diligently work hard they might get somewhere. China is all about cutting corner and max gain.
    _______________________________________________________________

“Are you so naive you think Korean food in China is made by Koreans……… if you don’t like or can eat Chinese food then you and other Koreans have pretty big problems really.”

If that’s true then Koreans in China are screwed.
    ________________________________________________________________

“Funny, Korean’s don’t trust Chinese products but in some strange way my parents 52″ Samsung Oled is Chinese made…”

Products made by Chinese under foreign management are acceptable (these days most consumer electronic product don’t last over 5 years…my itouch, iphone, wireless routers, modems, etc. all die in about 2 to 3 years). Quality of products under Chinese management are highly questionable and usually low.
    _______________________________________________________________

“So let’s assume ALL Korean owned restaurants import all their ingredients fresh for Korean…”

Pray & hope that this is true…or else again Koreans in China are screwed!

“You mean this post with no reference to stupid and insulting Caucasian and Chinese folk?”

I managed to offend you because I said Hong Qi sounds like HONKY? Man I hope I’m not around you when someone actually calls you HONKY in your face.

  5. avatar hk says:

I think here the name “Hong Qi” creates the trouble. A lot of people are not familiar with the Chinese way of spelling and pronounce them in the wrong way. “Hong Qi” should be better as “Huong Chi” then s_g will not say it as “Honky”.

In the same way “King Long” is very funny to all english speakers. It should be spelled as “Jing Luong” or directly as “Golden Dragon”.

Simplified Chinese is even worser than these and creates more troubles. Well that is another story.

  6. avatar woxihuanpijiu says:

Any links or references to back up any of the comments you made? Without links to back things up do you think most people will really care?? 2025 I will be full of grey hairs and will have a chuckle if BYD isn’t the biggest car company in the world….. will that be important….. yeah, as important as (insert life changing moment here)……. I do know some Chinese brand will be bigger than any Korean one though. Which one is still to be seen but an every changing world leads to growth in odd places.

FYI, the last time I heard “Honky” it was from a Cantonese referring to someone from Hong Kong and it came from an intelligent Chinese (Cantonese) woman working for a Japanese bank……

If someone said that word to my face I would get up in theirs and say something offensive to them but depending on the context that may not be required (er, 99% not required)and laowai here are a pretty peaceful bunch’.

You should convey your re-unification stuff to the guy in this link. he is a bit confused to your message.

in reality though the USA..AKA your puppet masters won’t start an attack because they know the North has the firepower to decimate the South in a few hours if they really want to….. The guys name is Han Ho Suk, google him and learn something interesting. The last thing the US public wants is to fight yet another BS war in another BS country when they would more than likely want their soldier’s at home with their families.

So…… Hongqi, give us a burnout

“It’s only matter of time that the current communist regime will collapse and China dissolves into several states.”

I partially agree with you on this issue. The current communist regime has to change politically but not necessarily collapse. A United Provinces of China is a better solution and Korea is welcome to join like Hawaii.

“As for China’s growth, the double digit growth of China isn’t surprising (nor is it a new economical miracle) if you think about it, as she is nation of 1.3 billion people chugging along catching up to the rest of the developed nations.”

“Economical Miracle” is world recognized. India and Indonesia are also populated and democratic but there are no such miracles happened. I can only see jealous from you, in some way your Korean companies helped in making such miracle. What an irony, why not ask your fellow countrymen in Shanghai to retreat back home and build a new Goguryeo Empire.

“A United Provinces of China is a better solution and Korea is welcome to join like Hawaii.”

I’m sure you say this in desire of better and united Asia so that point is taken. But better solution for who? Only for China. Koreans are too xenophobic to ever do that; Koreans will cut their wrist before joining anything resembling a province of China. The fact that a little peninsula country like Korea could stave off from becoming a part of China in the past 5000 years was a testimony on their will. They stayed independent preventing itself from being sucked into becoming a Chinese state. It won’t happen.

  10. avatar korean_guy says:

    @hk

“I can only see jealous from you…”

I’m perplexed at why Chinese think we are jealous. Actually I am not perplexed really; I know exactly why Chinese think we are jealous, because the only thing in Chinese’s mind is money, size of country and number of population.

For the record Koreans never envied China, esp. their size of country or population. Matter of fact China’s population and size will become a liability & obstacle as their growth stables out.

My disdain for China has nothing to do with their economical status or success. If China worked hard and produced quality good and services I would root for them, but that is hardly the case. China is not only producing inferior product, but dangerous ones. And they are blatantly unethical, stare at you in the face and say “so what!”

“I do know some Chinese brand will be bigger than any Korean one though.”

It’s certainly possible, but highly unlikely if Chinese companies continue to conduct matters as they do now. Matter of time? No matter of how Chinese companies will shape up and learn from their mistakes today.

“in reality though the USA..AKA your puppet masters won’t start an attack because they know the North has the firepower to decimate the South in a few hours if they really want to…..”

U.S. SK’s puppet master? Ha better to be a puppet for the U.S. than the poor bastards in NK who decided to become puppets for China. U.S. does not have to start a war with NK since they will shrivel away as current Chinese regime will either collapses or becomes democratic in the near future.

“Koreans will cut their wrist before joining anything resembling a province of China. The fact that a little peninsula country like Korea could stave off from becoming a part of China in the past 5000 years was a testimony on their will.”

Please study your own history carefully before making such statement. 5000 years? Are you sure you have such long period of written history (especially written in funny Korean alphabets)? As I have told you, do learn some Chinese as your long Korean history was written in Chinese. Even the recorded Chinese history is no more than 3000 years.

Will cut your wrist before joining China? Are you sure that Korea was part of China did not happen? You have to eat your words after learning the real history. During the hey days of Ming Dynasty, your Korea was under the sovereignty of China. Your political system, medical system, education system, traditional costume… were very much Chinese. Until the rise of Japan in late Ching Dynasty, Korea became a colony of Japan. If you are talking about independent state, Korea just has 50 years so history only. The abandon of Chinese characters in Korean writing proved your insecurity in contrary to Japan. Be a man, face the REAL Korean history !!!
