Chevoo – It’s Chery’s latest new energy brand
Chery are keen to show their green credentials are greener than any other auto maker, and they are planing to launch a new brand that will show case their new energy cars.
The new brand follows on from Chery’s mad cap scheme to launch different brands for different segment, the Riich brand became Chery’s luxury line up, whilst Reely will house the MPV and SUV line, Karry became the workhorse brand and sells cheap, economical vans and trucks for rural buyers, and the latest brand, Chevoo, will house Chery’s new energy range. The brand has not officially launched yet, but details including the logo have already leaked to the internet and have thus found their way to CCT. An official announcement from Chery is due soon.
The Chevoo name will be known as 骐诺 (Qi Nuo) in Chinese.

Jon there were reports of a A3 hatchback with both a petrol-electric hybrid, and 1.3L diesel-electric hybrid with a double-clutch gearbox
There were also reports of an S18 (aka NN, FairaEV) “Plug in EV”, and a QQ EV.
Another report cited a ZC7050A EV said to be jointly developed with Anhui’s Zhaocheng Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd.
And then there was the Chery-Quantum Auto EVs which never seems to have gotten off the ground. The Chrysler-Chery cooperation on hybrids apparently also bombed.
Finally there was a Gasgoo.com report last year that Chery in 2006 created the country’s first hydrogen fuel cell car in partnership with Tsinghua University and J&K Technologies Inc..
In other words Chery hasn’t been sitting on its hands letting BYD, Zotye and Chang’an get too wide a lead.
@ joninchina,
chill out mate …. your sense of humour needs as much work as Chery’s marketing department needs some exposure to the west!! Which ever way you cut it their marketing strategy is naive at best and downright stupid at worst. I am sure in 20 years time the Chinese motor industry will be light years ahead of what it is now, but equally shitty companies will go to the wall. Good luck Chery, you will need it!
The Tiggo is a clone also.
Name sucks, yes, but the logo isn’t bad at all. A Plus, for Positive Energy. And blue of course, because that’s the new green (still don’t get that). I like it.
But the name is gone, fortunately.
