Ford recalling the Windstar in China

Ford China are planning to recall 271 Ford Winstar MPV’s in the Chinese market due to rear axle issues and only affects 1998 to 2003 models of the imported MPV. Ford will be recalling all Windstars built between September 1st 1997 and February 28 2003 starting from October 2010.

The news comes as a shock as the car has been off the market for quite a few years, and even the Chinese name of the Windstar (稳达) knocked CCT off course, until of course we saw the picture that accompanied the news. Thankfully the recall only effects 271 Windstars, and how many of them remain on the roads today?
