Dongfeng Nissan working on second factory
Construction of Dongfeng-Nissan’s second factory is about to begin according to media reports. Dongfeng-Nissan have been relying on subsidiary company, Zhengzhou Automotive, who also have a JV with Nissan to produce Paladin (X-Terra) and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) range of vehicles from Nissan, including the NV200. Zhengzhou-Nissan have been assisting Dongfeng-Nissan with producing the Qashqai and X-Trail range due to the high demand for these vehicles.
The Chinese media are speculating that Zhengzhou may assist Renault with production of their vehicles as they already have the equipment and expertise in building Nissan’s C-platform based vehicles, which are also shared with various Renault vehicles.
