BAIC’s Electric C60 – thats a Saab 9-3 to you

The most convincing electric car to date is out testing in Beijing, and its expected to be on sale towards the end of 2011, and of course that car is Saab 9-3 based.

The Saab 9-3 is still a handsome car, even after all these years, BAIC are planning to improve on its looks and also give it a pure electric drive chain. In addition to the above C60EV, BAIC also have plans for the C71EV which is a Chrysler Sebring based vehicle and also the C30EV, of which the standard gasoline version has already been seen on China Car Times many times.

By 2015 BAIC are aiming to have sales of around 150,000 new energy vehicles per year and will be producing 320,000 critical electric car parts themselves.
