BYD working with LA’s Housing Authority department on fleet testing
BYD has delivered a series of BYD F3DM hybrid sedans to Los Angeles Housing Authority (HACLA) which will see the F3DM’s under go road testing in the USA. The F3DM will be able to travel for 40 to 60 miles per day on its electric power pack and can also be charged up overnight and will reach a full charge from a regular power point within 7 hours, should the F3DM run low on electric power then its 1.0L engine will kick into action and provide enough power for the car around town.

@IHC
Where are the lawyers from Toyota waiting at the port at California to confiscate those BYD F3DM? Your prediction and saying never happened. Even the local county governments are willing to tryout BYD F3DM, that is totally official action. Why doesn’t Toyota-US take action to sue BYD-US? Please give me a good explaination. I wouldn’t accept any bullshit…
“..kick into action…”
From what we hear that “kick” feels like a swift kick to the driver during the transition from gas to electric. Let’s see how the Housing Authority guys react to it.
I remember reading reviews of the F3DM that said the transition was smooth, although I have yet to test for myself as BYD seem to go back and forth on actual testability of the car.
When was IHC ever right?
