2011/12 Mercedes C-Class spotted out at a dealership
Mercedes are doing well in China, although they are far behind their German rivals Audi who entered China much earlier, Mercedes even chose a good partner in Beijing Auto whilst BMW came even later than its two nearest rivals and ended up signing up with small time car maker Brilliance. For 2011 Mercedes are planning to update the C-Class with a new front end to bring it more into line with the E-Class, which is also made by Beijing Auto Works.
In the Chinese market only a 1.8T and 3.0L V6 engines are made available, diesel models seem to be out of the question for Mercedes China at the moment.
Mercedes are eager to expand their line up with locally made products, a Chinese made GLK SUV is expected to launch in 2011 with a 1.8T powerplant.
