SAIC aiming to sell 700,000 own branded cars by 2015
Chen Hong, president of SAIC Group, set a sales target for its self developed passenger vehicle subsidiary recently, that it is to achieve annual output and sales of 700,000 units by 2015, higher than the previously-set sales target of 600,000 units.
Chen Zhixin, general manager of the subsidiary, announced that the company aimed to sell 230,000 vehicles this year, compared with sales of SAIC’s own-branded passenger vehicles up more than 78% year on year to above 160,000 units last year.
SAIC Motor plans to launch Roewe SUV and the sixth-generation MG3 this year. According to the 12th five-year plan of SAIC Group, SAIC Motor will launch three or four models each year on average in future. New Roewe 750, jointly developed with GM, will reach the market in the next two or three years.
