VW Golf Variant to be imported into China
The market for wagons in China is still small, but it seems that VW are eager to exploit the niche with a series of new products. They kicked off exploration of the wagon market with the introduction of the Passat Variant earlier this year and will follow it up with the importation of the Golf wagon later this year, we can expect that it will be on show at the Shanghai Auto Show.
The current crop of wagons in China is mostly made up of imports, the Peugeot 308SW, Mercedes C-Class Wagon, Subaru Legacy etc whilst the only Chinese made wagon is the Brilliance Wagon which is now available in crossover form.
Pricing is not expected to be cheap, the Golf wagon could be upwards of 200,000rmb when launched later this year.
