The Range Rover Evoque is likely to be Range Rover’s big car in the PRC, especially as the demand for smaller luxury crossovers is certainly hotting up with competition from all the major manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Infiniti. The five door had its premier at the Guangzhou Auto Show in late 2010 and was well received by the press and also visitors to the show, the Evoque even got its Chinese name: Ji Guang.

Pricing for the Ji Guang has yet to be announced, but it could be as low as 500,000rmb or it could be as high as 800,000rmb. We cannot even begin to guess where Jaguar-Land Rover China will place this model.

The price rather dependent on whether JLR sets up a JV or not. If it does the Evoque surely is a prime candidate for local production.
