The big goal for Chinese car makers now is the government procurement lists, so it comes as no surprise that Chinese companies are building big sedans. Chery are producing the Riich G6, Geely have the EC8 and FAW are working on the below Besturn B90.
The Chinese media are reporting at that the B90 is similar in style to the Lexus LS series, but we find it hard to see. In the smaller B50 and B70 models Besturn used the last generation Mazda6 platform which won them much praise from consumers and automotive press alike, but as the B90 is essentially a full size sedan its unlikely that the Mazda6 platform has been stretched out for this project. Besturn are likely to have developed their own platform for the new car, engine power is still unknown it is unlikely that the Mazda 2.4L is also in use yet again but then again FAW may have developed something in house. Now we can only play a waiting game, expect to see this in Shanghai later this year.
