Chevrolet Malibu revealed ahead of time

One of the big international car launches this year at the Shanghai Auto Show is the Chevrolet Malibu, the Malibu was GM’s economy fleet car but now it looks like the Malibu, or the Mai Rui Bo as it will be known in China is ready for the prime time. The Malibu rides on top of the Buick Regal platform, aka the Opel Insignia and will be Chevrolet’s new world car alongside the smaller Cruze.

As the official launch has not happened yet, information on the Malibu’s engine power is not available, but it is likely to be the same as the Buick Regal, aka a 2.0 and a 2.4L and even the possibility of a V6 or the 2.0T. Price is difficult to determine, it maybe marginally lower than the higher end Regal, so somewhere in the 180,000rmb to 230,000rmb price range when launched.
