Shanghai Auto Show – Day One.

The Shanghai Auto Show kind of started yesterday, exhibitors have been allowed in for the past few days and plenty of new cars have been sighted going into the back doors of the Pudong Exhibition Center. Initial impressions are that the Shanghai Auto Show is going to be BIG this year, every stand at the recently expanded Long Yang Road based center has been filled by car makers both foreign and local eager to enter the boom town that is the Chinese auto market, rumor has it that some of the smaller niche manufacturers were given space but later booted out due to the organisers over allotting the space available.

From your initial entry its obvious that the crowds are going to be big this year, every possible amount of floor space has been utilized, even the open air section in the middle of the exhibition center has been overtake by truck and bus manufacturers that are eager to show their wares at what seemingly is the world’s biggest auto show.

Today is the first day of the two media days, China Car Times was at the show yesterday but limited to certain areas, today is media day so we will be there covering the show and reporting on China’s most popular – and not so popular brands.

Keep watching, the fun is about to begin!

Hey Ash is the new Kia Soul there with 6 speed transmission? I almost bought one yesterday.

Yeah yeah. I don’t have any issues with it. My dad got one for commuting to work and has had no problems with it in 1.5 years. My brother bought the Hyundai Veracruz. The only issue he has had is that his garage door had decided to close twice before the car was all the way inside the garage. They aren’t too exciting but they get the job done. For me not much else matters in China when it comes to driving. It just isn’t the same driving here as in the U.S.

I am looking forward to reading the news on here …. already seen some of the pics of the new cars, but to be honest it is the obscure Chinese cars I want to see. I would love to visit China sometime in the future!
