Polo sedan to join hatchback later this year

China’s love for luxury cars if often talked about, but what about China’s love for mini sedans? Practically every hatchback that has launched in China has come in both sedan and hatch version at some date, see the Ford Fiesta, Mazda2, Citroen C4 and of course the VW Polo – thankfully there has been no Suzuki Swift Sedan like India (yet). The latest generation of VW Polo has been on the market for several months but a sedan version is only just being prepared, the Polo sedan is expected to launch in the middle of the year and will be powered by the same 1.4 and 1.6 engines that are found in the current hatchback. Pricing is expected to start from 70,000rmb and rising.
