Kai Li logo and first model unveiled

The Kai Li brand and the FV7002 first appeared on our radar last week, the new sub brand was the first sub brand that would focus on solely on pure electric models, where as other sub brands from Honda, Nissan and GM were focused on recycling their old technology for economy buyers. The greatest thing about these sub brands, which technically aren’t sub brands as they are brands that are independent from their parent companies is that they can be exported out of China, so could we be seeing Kai Li electric vehicles elsewhere in the world in the next few years? It’s a possibility.

So the Kai Li FV7002 has been sighted out testing, curiously without any sort of camouflage to hide its design, as mentioned in earlier articles the Kai Li is obviously based on the FAW-VW designed Bora. As for the logo, it looks very amateurish and not nearly as sharp as you would expect for a VW brand.

The FV7002 will carry a 42Kw electric power which draws its power from a bank of iron phosphate batteries which store 60Ah of electricity, enough to take it 135km on a single journey and will be able to reach a top speed of 135kph, a fast recharge time of 10 minutes will be enough to take the batteries to 80%.

Chinese media reports are saying that the Kai Li FV7002 wont be in production until 2014, but seeing as the brand and the car were both recently cleared for schedule it is likely that the car will be in production much much earlier.
