The MG5 was only just recently unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show but SAIC are eager to get the compact MG5 hatch into production as quickly as possible. Work on taking the car from the concept into the production stage is already underway with SAIC reportedly talking with several different major component suppliers for the new car. The MG5 is expected to be priced at 90,000rmb to 130,000rmb when finally launched in mid 2012.
The MG5 concept was undoubtedly one of the major stars at the Shanghai Auto Show and will go onto be one of their big sellers in the next few years as the MG range is ramped up. MG3 sales are already underway with the MG3 being pushed squarely at younger buyers in China
