Suzuki Splash finally ready for Chinese market

Suzuki splash blue 300x225 Suzuki Splash finally ready for Chinese marketSuzuki’s joint ventures in China have been shook up recently by Chang-an’s buyout of the AVIC group’s auto making divisions. Chang-an’s parent company is a weapons company, AVIC are an aerospace company that also happen to make war birds and got into the car making business to make extra dollars when the central government was cutting back its military spending, of course now the government is upping its military spending and the AVIC group had no extra time for the car making business, so they sold their two brands – Hafei and Changhe Auto to Chang’an automotive who took over the Changhe-Suzuki joint venture. Suzuki were planning to put the Splash into the Chinese market much earlier, but the transitions at Changhe Auto delayed the introduction of the car for a few years, now it appears that the Splash is ready for prime time under the Chang’an Suzuki joint venture.

Suzuki’s China offerings are so far made up of the WagonR+, Swift, Alto and of course the new Splash, it relies on imported SUV models to fill out its dealerships with the Vitara and Jimney coming in from Japan, along with the poor selling Kizashi sedan. The new Splash is expected to hit the market in September this year, pricing is expected to be from 60,000rmb and rising.
